3C to 4C — the coily spectrum
Coily hair is the most moisture-demanding category. The tighter the coil, the harder it is for your scalp's natural oils to travel down the hair shaft — which is why coily hair gets dry faster than any other type.
All of these types benefit from the LOC method — layering Liquid, Oil, and Cream in that specific order to lock in moisture that would otherwise evaporate within hours.
The kit is built around the LOC method
LOC stands for Liquid, Oil, Cream — a layering technique designed specifically for coily hair. Each layer traps the previous one, building up moisture that lasts days instead of hours.
Liquid
Water-based products open the hair shaft and flood it with moisture. Applied first, on soaking-wet hair.
Oil
A lightweight oil seals the moisture from the liquid step inside the hair shaft, preventing evaporation.
Cream
A butter-rich cream adds the final seal over the oil layer, locking everything in for days of moisture retention.
The Coily Complete contains every product you need for a complete LOC routine, plus a co-wash for cleansing and a weekly deep moisture masque to reset your moisture baseline.

What each product does and why coily hair needs it
Every product in this kit serves a specific role. Here's the breakdown — no filler, no overlap.
A conditioning cleanser that removes buildup while depositing moisture at the same time. Works like a shampoo but leaves hair far softer — ideal for coily hair that dries out with regular shampoo.
A weekly deep conditioning treatment. Applied after washing, left on for 20–30 minutes (with heat if available), then rinsed. Penetrates deeper than regular conditioner to rebuild moisture reserves.
Water-based leave-in applied to soaking-wet hair as the first step of the LOC method. Floods the hair shaft with moisture before sealing products are applied on top.
A castor oil-forward blend that seals the hair shaft after the leave-in. Lightweight enough not to cause buildup but rich enough to genuinely lock moisture in. Adds shine without greasiness.
A rich, butter-infused cream that is the final LOC layer. Applied over the oil, it seals everything in, defines coil patterns, and gives the stretch and softness coily hair needs.

Coily hair kit FAQs
Each product plays a distinct role in the LOC method and can't be easily substituted. That said: the Deep Moisture Masque is a weekly treatment — not every wash. So for a regular wash day, you're using 4 products: co-wash, leave-in, oil, cream. The masque is your weekly reset. Skipping products in the LOC stack means moisture evaporates faster — which is the core problem this kit solves.
Usually one of three reasons: (1) You're applying styling products to damp hair instead of soaking-wet hair — the LOC method only works when hair is dripping wet. (2) You're using a regular shampoo that's stripping natural oils — switch to a co-wash. (3) You're skipping the deep masque — coily hair needs that weekly moisture reset to stay ahead of dryness. The kit addresses all three.
Once a week is typical for 4A–4C coils, though some people go to every 10–14 days. Coily hair doesn't get oily as fast as straighter hair types — and over-washing strips moisture coils need. Use the co-wash for regular cleanses. Once a month or so, use a clarifying rinse if you notice heavy buildup from styling products.
Section your hair into 4–6 parts while still soaking wet. Work section by section: (1) Apply leave-in conditioner and smooth through with your fingers. (2) Apply a few drops of the castor oil blend, work through each section. (3) Apply butter cream, rake or finger-coil to define. Do not skip the sectioning — applying products to all your hair at once leads to uneven coverage, and that's why some coils are moisturised and others aren't.

Guides for coily hair
Coily hair that stays moisturised for days
The LOC method is the difference between coily hair that looks dry by nightfall and coily hair that stays defined and soft all week. These products make it possible.
