Your curls need real moisture, not just hold

3A–3C curls lose moisture faster than any other hair type. Most products focus on hold — but without moisture first, hold just seals in dryness. These kits fix that: moisture-rich formulas that define, protect, and last all day.

3A, 3B, 3C — what sets them apart

Type 3 curls are the most diverse category. A 3A and a 3C can look completely different and need different approaches — but they all share a need for intense moisture and products that define without weighing down.

🌿
Type 3A
Large, loose spirals with a definite curl pattern. Susceptible to frizz. Needs moisture and light hold — goes flat with heavy products.
🌀
Type 3B
Tighter, bouncier curls with good volume. Needs consistent moisture plus hold to prevent frizz and keep definition all day.
🔄
Type 3C
Tight, dense spiral curls with lots of volume. Shrinkage is significant. Needs rich moisture and strong definition products.

All type 3 curls share one fundamental need: moisture before styling. A good shampoo and conditioner does more for your curls than any styling product.

Two kits for curly hair

The Curly Essential is the kit most 3A–3C people need. The Curl Repair is for curls that have been through heat damage, chemical treatments, or years of dryness that hasn't responded to standard products.

The Curl Repair
Types 3A–3C · 5 products
For heat-damaged or chemically treated curls. Protein-rich treatments that rebuild curl structure from the inside out.
  • Gentle Cleansing Shampoo by Inahsi (300ml) — ultra-gentle cleanse for compromised hair
  • Protein Repair Treatment by Boucleme (200ml) — rebuilds damaged curl bonds with protein
  • Intensive Curl Cream by Boucleme (250ml) — heavy moisture for severely dehydrated curls
  • Curl Reviving Spray by Pretty Curly Girl (200ml) — refreshes and revives between wash days
  • Sealing Hair Oil by Inahsi (50ml) — seals the cuticle to lock in all that moisture

What's in the kit and why it's there

The Curly Essential's four products work in sequence. Each one sets up the next. Here's what each does for 3A–3C curls specifically.

🧴
Sulfate-Free Shampoo
Inahsi · 300ml

A gentle, sulfate-free cleanser that removes buildup without stripping the natural oils 3A–3C curls depend on. Produces a light lather that rinses completely clean.

💡 Why it's in the kit: Sulfates are curly hair enemy number one. This shampoo cleans your scalp and removes product buildup without leaving your curls gasping for moisture by wash-day's end.
💧
Rich Curl Conditioner
Boucleme · 300ml

A rich, silicone-free conditioner that penetrates the hair shaft rather than just coating it. Use as a rinse-out or leave a little in for extra moisture. Detangles without breakage.

💡 Why it's in the kit: Your conditioner does more for your curl definition than your styling products. Rich but not heavy, this one gives 3A–3C curls the moisture base they need before any styling step.
🌀
Curl Defining Cream
Pretty Curly Girl · 250ml

Apply to soaking-wet hair to define curl clumps, elongate the pattern, and fight frizz from the inside out. Works under gel or as a standalone styler for looser patterns.

💡 Why it's in the kit: This is your curl enhancer — it doesn't add hold, it improves the curl shape itself. Used correctly, it's what makes the difference between frizzy curls and defined clumps.
Strong Hold Curl Gel
Boucleme · 250ml

Applied over curl cream on soaking-wet hair, this gel seals in definition and hold. Forms a temporary cast while drying — scrunch it out when fully dry for soft, bouncy curls.

💡 Why it's in the kit: Without a sealing gel, curl definition typically falls apart within a few hours. This one holds all day and dries soft — none of the crunch that makes people avoid gel.

Curly hair kit FAQs

Do I need both cream and gel, or just one?
+

Both. Curl cream defines and adds moisture. Gel seals in that definition and adds hold. Using just cream = soft but undefined curls that fade fast. Using just gel = defined but dry curls that feel crunchy. The combination — cream then gel on soaking-wet hair — is the CGM method's core styling principle.

Which kit is right for damaged curls — Essential or Repair?
+

If your curls are naturally dry or you're just starting out: the Essential. If your curls have been through heat damage, colouring, bleaching, or relaxers — or if they've been chronically dry for years despite trying many products — the Repair kit's protein treatment and intensive cream are built for that level of recovery.

My curls clump unevenly. Will this help?
+

Uneven clumping usually comes from applying styling products to hair that isn't wet enough. The formula in this kit works best on soaking-wet hair — not just damp. Soak your hair in the shower, do not towel dry, apply curl cream while dripping wet, then seal with gel. The clumping difference is significant.

How often should I use the Curl Repair protein treatment?
+

Once every 2–4 weeks. Protein treatments repair, but too much protein causes brittleness. For the first month, use every 2 weeks. Once your curls feel stronger and more elastic, drop to monthly. If your hair starts feeling stiff or snapping — too much protein, dial back the frequency.

Where do you ship and how long does it take?
+

We ship worldwide. Australia: 3–5 business days. New Zealand: 5–7 days. USA, UK, Canada, and Asia: 7–14 days. Free shipping on all orders, tracking included.
