2A, 2B, 2C — which one are you?
Wavy hair is the most misunderstood curl category. Most people with waves don't realise their hair has a natural pattern — they've spent years fighting frizz with straight-hair products that aren't designed for them. Here's how to tell your type:
All three types share one thing: they need lightweight hydration that defines without weighing down. That's what these kits are built around.
Two kits for wavy hair
We have two wavy kits designed for different needs. If you're starting out or have fine waves, start with the Wavy Starter. If your waves are persistently dry or you're a 2C, go for the Hydrate.
- Curl Cleanser by Boucleme (300ml) — sulfate-free cleanse that won't strip your waves
- Curl Conditioner by Boucleme (300ml) — lightweight moisture to detangle and hydrate
- Wave Defining Mousse by Pretty Curly Girl (200ml) — scrunches in for defined waves with flexible hold
- Hydrating Shampoo by Inahsi (300ml) — intense moisture from wash step one
- Hydrating Conditioner by Inahsi (300ml) — rich conditioner for waves that need more
- Deep Conditioning Mask by Boucleme (200ml) — weekly treatment that transforms dry waves
- Lightweight Curl Oil by Pretty Curly Girl (50ml) — seals moisture without greasy residue
What's in the kit and why it's there
Every product is chosen for a reason. Here's what each one does for wavy hair specifically — not generic curl claims.
A sulfate-free cleanser that removes buildup without stripping the natural oils that give wavy hair its shape. Lathers gently, rinses clean.
Lightweight, silicone-free conditioner that detangles and adds moisture without coating the hair shaft. Rinse or leave in a little for extra hydration.
A lightweight mousse that encourages wave definition and adds flexible hold without crunch. Scrunch into soaking-wet hair for best results.
Not sure if you're actually wavy?
Our 4-question quiz identifies your exact curl type — 2A, 2B, 2C, or something entirely different — and points you to the right kit.
Wavy hair kit FAQs
These kits are formulated for 2A, 2B, and 2C wave patterns. If you have loose, S-shaped waves that struggle with frizz or fall flat, these products are designed for you. If you're unsure of your type, take the quiz first — it takes about 2 minutes.
The Wavy Starter is your foundation — cleanser, conditioner, mousse. It works for all 2A–2C wave types and is the best starting point if you're new to the curly girl method. The Wavy Hydrate adds a deep conditioning mask and a lightweight oil, and is better suited to 2B–2C waves that struggle with chronic dryness or frizz that doesn't go away with regular conditioner.
Inconsistent waves are usually a sign of product mismatch — either the products are too heavy, too light, or contain silicones that block your natural pattern. Using a matched kit eliminates that guesswork. Most people see consistent results within 3–4 wash days once they switch to the right formulas.
With typical wavy hair usage — washing 2–3 times per week — the Wavy Starter should last approximately 6–8 weeks. The 300ml bottles are generously sized for the price point. The Wavy Hydrate's deep mask (used weekly) will last 3–4 months.
We ship worldwide. Australia: 3–5 business days. New Zealand: 5–7 days. USA, UK, Canada, and Asia: 7–14 days. Tracking is included with every order. Shipping is free on all orders.
